FabCon Europe 2024 attracted IT professionals, developers and industry experts from around the world. Microsoft presented exciting innovations and updates for its data platform in Stockholm. Microsoft impressively demonstrated where the journey is headed in terms of data architecture, AI-based workflows and Python integration. In this blog post, I would like to share some insights into the most interesting moments and key takeaways that I took away from FabCon.

adesso is known for its progressive and flexible working culture, which is strongly focussed on the development and promotion of its employees. An outstanding example of this is my personal experience with the individual support that enabled me to complete the Chamber of Trade's Business IT Specialist programme. ECO:DIGIT is a research and development project with the participation of adesso, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The aim is to develop and standardise a uniform methodology for the automated life cycle assessment of distributed software systems and to implement an accessible and productive software system. When I came to Germany from Syria in 2015, my dream was clear: to study computer science and later go into software development. In 2019, I was able to start my studies and in 2022 I had my first internship in a government agency.

Volunteering is an important pillar of our society. As we see it, volunteering cultivates skills that can also come in handy in software development and IT consulting. Especially in the context of agile approaches and frameworks, you can develop a variety of soft skills by doing volunteer work that can also be put to use in your everyday work. In my blog post, I discuss two approaches to dealing with IT security requirements: traditional requirements engineering for end-to-end documentation and an iterative approach that speeds up IT security integration by carrying out risk assessments early on in the process. Addressing the requirements in an early phase and continuous improvement are prioritised over full and immediate integration. Using suitable tools and continuous monitoring minimise the risks prior to implementation.

The aim of the programme is to help you become aware of your strengths, build on your personal brand and learn how to get the most out of both.
